Advances in animal models of psoriasis

Abstract

Until now the exact etiology and pathogenesis of psoriasis remain unanswered. The establishment of ideal animal models of psoriasis will facilitate the investigation into the pathogenesis and development of new drugs. A large variety of animal models have been applied into the researches of psoriasis. They mainly include spontaneous mutant animal models, genetically engineered animal models, xenotransplantation animal models and induced animal models. Of these models, xenotransplantation model is the most perfect model that nearly incorporates overall genetic, immunologic, and phenotypic changes of psoriasis. Key words: Psoriasis ; Models,animal ;
