Advancements in Health Information Technology (HIT) have significantly transformed nursing practice in the USA, driving improvements in patient care, clinical decision-making, and overall healthcare efficiency. This review paper explores the various technological advancements, including Electronic Health Records (EHRs), telehealth, mobile health applications, and artificial intelligence, and their profound influence on nursing. It examines the benefits these technologies bring to patient safety, nursing workflow, and education, while also addressing the challenges faced in their adoption. Through case studies, the paper illustrates real-world applications of HIT in nursing, highlighting both successes and areas for improvement.
