Abstract

Abstract: Over time, there has been rapid advancement in wireless sensor network (WSN) technologies. These networks have proven to be efficient tools in enhancing agricultural productivity. One significant development in WSNs is the integration of energy harvesting capabilities, allowing them to extract energy from the surrounding environment and utilize it to power wireless Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Energy harvesting involves converting ambient energy from various sources such as solar power, wind, and mechanical vibrations into usable power for devices. This review focuses on exploring the different techniques of energy harvesting for WSNs that can be effectively employed in agricultural monitoring systems. Additionally, it addresses the power consumption issues prevalent in agriculture and aims to identify the most effective strategies for resolving these problems.
