Abstract

Radiotherapy after breast-conserving surgery has become the major treatment for patients with invasive early stage breast cancer, which can effectively reduce the ipsilateral breast local recurrence, improve overall survival, preserve the physiological function of the breast and ameliorate the patients’ psychological needs. This article has comprehensively reviewed the advancement in clinical radiation biology in the approaches to deliver radiotherapy and regimens of different dose fraction.
