Abstract

Out of various alternatives green and clean energy, solar energy is one with good potential. In the past few decades, the grid penetration by solar PV has logged an exponential rise in the energy market. This requires innovative planning and management to sustain consistency and improve power quality. This study proposes a advance control approach for a three-phase inverter optimized using Hybrid Grasshopper optimization Algorithm-Flower Pollination Algorithm (GoA-FPA). This control strategy is based on reference current generation from the grid which is optimized using three Fractional Order-PI controllers. The complete investigation of the different optimization Algorithms for intelligently controlling the FO-PI controllers in the proposed inverter control scheme has been conducted. The critical gains of three FO-PI controllers have been obtained using multi-objective optimization algorithms. The proposed hybrid GOA-FPA algorithm reduces the THD to 0.93%, 1.02% and 1.15% at various solar irradiation levels.
