Abstract

Artificial Lung Models In article 2101139, Costa and co-workers use of biomanufacturing (electrospinning/3D-printing) and lung-on-chip technology for the development of artificial lung models. As such, microfluidic channels and 3D-printed fibers are arranged in order to represent the respiratory tree and pulmonary silhouette, simulating larger bronchi dividing into consecutively smaller branches and, finally, the alveoli.
