Abstract

In this study, an environmentally friendly and cost effective technique, Atmospheric Solution Precursor Plasma Spray (ASPPS) was used to deposit photo-catalytic titanium oxide (TiO2) film for the fabrication process of Dye-sensitized Solar Cell (DSSC) for low energy consuming devices in developing countries. Surface morphologies of the TiO2films were evaluated using optical micrographs. Film thickness and strength was measured using micro screw gauge and pencil scratch tester respectively. From these results it was confirmed that environmentally friendly semiconductor materials such as titanium dioxide, and natural dye, can be used for fabrication process of inexpensive photo-electronic solar cell using ASPPS technique.
