Abstract
Abstract Three commercial fields were divided into 4-40 acre plots each. Insecticide was applied by air in 2.5 gpa on 10 Jun when sunflower plants were in the 2 to 4 leaf stage. Treatments were randomized and replicated 3 times. Adult beetle counts were taken 24 h and 1 wk post treat. Larval counts were taken on 3 and 13 Jul. Defoliation readings were taken 17 Jun and 3 and 13 Jul. The grower had the untreated plots sprayed when defoliation exceeded 24% (10 Jul). Means were compared using LSD.
