Abstract

ABSTRACT The purposes of this exploratory study were to examine the severity of the immediate, long-term, and overall effects of child and adolescent incest. In addition, this study was designed to determine whether a relationship existed between the severity of the long-term effects, the overall effect, and various demographic variables. The Incest Questionnaire was utilized to elicit information from 25 adult male incest survivors. Significant aftereffects were found in various spheres of the survivors' lives. Significant correlations were found between the long-term effects, the overall effect, and various demographic variables.
