Abstract

1. The chemisorption of H2 on NiSiO2 catalysts in the pressure interval 0,01–40 mm Hg and the temperature interval 20–350° proceeds both in reversible and in irreversible form. 2. Coverage of the surface by an irreversibly chemisorbed form decreases with the temperature, while that with a reversibly chemisorbed form is practically unchanged, which is evidence of an increase in the number of centers of reversible chemisorption with increasing temperature. 3. The reversible form of chemisorption of hydrogen is best described by the Langmuir equation, considering dissociation.
