Abstract
This study shows that Clerodendrum serratum is an effective adsorbent for bivalent nickel(Ni(II)).Ni (II) sorption behavior onto the Clerodendrum serratum adsorbent was investigated in this study. Basiccondition was favorable for Ni (II) adsorption to the adsorbent. The pseudo second order equation welldescribed MG adsorption onto the wood adsorbent. The Langmuir Isotherm could describe the sorptiondata. The positive value of ïH0 showed that adsorption of Ni (II) onto the Clerodendrum serratum adsorbentwas endothermic. The negative values of ïG0 at all temperatures indicate the spontaneous nature of theadsorption process.
