Abstract

Adsorption of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP) from their mixed solutions onto a titanium dioxide (TiO 2) surface shows synergistic effects at low SDS concentrations and antagonistic effects at high SDS concentrations. It is suggested that this is due to complex formation between SDS and PVP: surface complexes at low SDS concentration and solution complexes at high SDS concentration.
