Abstract

It is shown that the outgassing temperature has a pronounced effect on the adsorption characteristics of a carbonized rayon yarn. The results of the present study reveal that after outgassing the carbon yarn at 350°C the pores become easily accessible to nitrogen molecules at liquid nitrogen temperature. Earlier, these samples, outgassed at 200°C, showed hardly any accessibility to nitrogen molecules at 77 K.
