Abstract

The adsorption behaviour of camphor-10-sulfonate at the mercury—solution interface was studied by means of double layer capacity and electrocapillary measurements. A remarkable effect of the anion of the supporting electrolyte on film formation was observed. In order to determine adsorption parameters of camphor-10-sulfonate the temperature dependence of the double layer capacity was measured and evaluated. Inhibition investigations show, that the reduction of Cu 2+ in the presence of camphor-10-sulfonate in dependence on surfactant concentration follows two distinct reaction paths.
