Abstract

Adsorption and desorption behaviour of arsenic compounds were studied on six inorganic ion exchangers; hydrous oxides of Al, Ti(IV), Zr(IV), Mn(IV) and Fe(III) and hydrota1cite by batch and column experiments. Among these inorganic ion exchangers, amorphous hydrous titanium dioxide showed high selectivity towards As(III), As(V) anions and cacodylic acid in O.OlM(M=mol dm-3) NaCl solution.
