Abstract

AbstractReemitted slow positrons from the clean Ni(111) surface and the hydrogen‐saturated Ni(111) surface were measured. We suggest that the disordered hydrogen adsorbed structure of the β1 phase contains vacancy‐type defects, and that the number of these defects will grow with time in the case of hydrogen‐saturated Ni(111) surface at 180 K.
