Abstract

Adsorbates on metal electrodes change the step formation energies and preferred step orientations relative to those of clean electrodes. We apply previously developed approximate density functional theory potential energy surfaces from Behler-Parrinello neural networks. We investigate the adsorbate order to disorder transition on terraces and monolayer and bilayer steps. We identify how the adlattice disorders with changing adsorbate coverage for these surfaces.
