Abstract

This article aims to provide the veterinary nurse with a ‘recap’ of the anatomy and physiology of the adrenal glands, to discuss the signs, symptoms and diagnostic tests available to diagnose conditions associated with adrenal insufficiency, and to explore the treatment options available.There will be particular emphasis on the nursing considerations of patients undergoing an adrenalectomy.
