Abstract

Adrenal masses are common incidental findings in patients undergoing computed tomographic (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations for other purposes [1,2] and are seen in up to 5% of patients undergoing CT imaging with modern multidetector scanners [3,4]. Even in patients with known cancer, the large majority of lesions less than 4 cm in diameter are benign, nonfunctional adenomas, but other possibilities must be considered, including a functional mass, metastasis, or primary adrenal cancer [5].
