Abstract

Less than 10% of the total ADP-ribosylation in isolated nuclei of Physarum polycephalum are bound to the nuclear matrix. In S-phase the matrix-associated ADP-ribosylation is almost twice as high as compared with the G2-period of the cell cycle. Inhibitors of DNA- and RNA-synthesis and the mutagen N-methyl-N′-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine increase the percentage of matrix-associated ADP-ribosylation.
