Abstract

AbstractThe use of learning management system (LMS) is growing in the educational sector and it has become an indispensable tool for the teaching and learning process. Numerous technology adoption models have been used by researchers to investigate the factors that influence the adoption of technology. It is a well-recognized fact that cultural characteristics play a key role in technology adoption, yet cultural variables are ignored in most technology adoption models. The extended unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT2) model does not talk about cultural variables and lacks cultural awareness in non-Western countries. This book provides empirical evidence to the validity of the extended unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT2) model in the cultural context of higher educational institutions. Thus, in this chapter, we first describe the genesis of this book by presenting the context, problem statement, and the critical research questions. Finally, we present a content overview of this book.
