Abstract
In the last year we have seen the national debate focus on the issue of sexual abuse in institutional settings. This has seen the establishment of the Commonwealth Government's Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, the New South Wales' Government Special Commission of Inquiry concerning the investigation of certain child sexual abuse allegations in the Hunter region, and the Victorian Parliament's Inquiry into the Handling of Child Abuse by Religious and Other Organisations.
