Abstract

AbstractAlong with this study, a mixed methods design is adopted, in which both quantitative and qualitative data are captured in order to answer the research questions. The possibility to have a deeper understanding of the complex research problem is conceived as justification for the use of a mixed methods approach. Quantitative data are collected through a web-based survey, while qualitative data are gathered through semi-structured interviews. The analysis of quantitative and qualitative data is done following the triangulation protocol strategy, according to which, after a separate analysis of data coming from both approaches, an interpretation stage is followed to integrate results and to obtain a broader picture of the research problem. The analysis is conducted in Lombardy Region, in Italy, where a tailored implementation intervention, aimed at diffusing HTA culture at different levels of the healthcare system, was developed.
