Abstract

Currently, vehicular communications are gradually becoming important in the Internet of Vehicles where vehicles exchange information with other units. How to achieve high efficiency of network resource is one key topic for make full use of the current limited network resources. In this paper, an optimization method for resource allocation is proposed to maximize energy efficiency in Internet of Vehicles, which jointly considering caching mechanism. Firstly, the connectivity of the vehicles and Road Side Unit (RSUs) is considered by analyzing communication coverage distance of RSUs and the location of vehicles. The information about the connected probability can also provide suggestions about how to arrange RSUs. Further, to maximize energy efficiency, the caching policy is exploited to reduce bandwidth usage and increase information transmission rate and spectral efficiency. In the proposed method, alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) is used to solve the allocation of power and energy efficiency when updating at each iteration, and then the algorithm can achieve an optimized result. The simulation results are given to approve the proposed method could achieve optimized energy efficiency and reduced bandwidth usage.
