Abstract

Defining the priorities of economic and scientific and technical growth is one of the main tasks of state administration. In modern conditions, solving this problem is unimaginable without the support of science. The selection of priorities itself is a complex problem that can be considered within the context of different approaches. The authors of this paper propose an original approach: from an analysis of more than 10 mln international patent applications, they have developed a technique for defining the most promising directions of scientific research, which should ensure the transition of Russia’s economy to a new technological structure.
