Abstract

The problem of Romanian administration in Bukovina and partly Bessarabia is analyzed in the study. This period is one of the least studied in Ukrainian historiography. The real situation in the region in the sphere of Romanian internal and foreign policy, the conditions of Ion Antonescu’s coming to power, and also the peculiarities of the formation and organization of activities of Romanian authorities on the territory of contemporary Chernivtsi oblast’ during the Second World war are researched on the base of archive materials, published documents and previous investigations of Ukrainian, Romanian and world scientists. The author pays special attention to the forms of administrative-territorial organization of Bukovina, Bessarabia and Hertsa, peculiarities of Romanian management of the region, main functions of Romanian authorities and ways of administrative management problems solving by the region during the war.
