Abstract

Standing surgical procedures under sedation are usually developed in horses to reduce morbidity and mortality associated to general anesthesia. Despite the existence of a number of protocols, the application of a constant rate infusion of medetomidine, morfine and ketamine has not been yet reported. Our goal is to define its cardiovascular effects as well as the sedative and analgesic scale it provides. Medetomidine, morfine and ketamina infusion provides a suitable sedative and analgesic level for those surgical procedures with stable cardiovascular function.
