Abstract

The authors share the context of the depth-psychotherapeutic approach of Alfred Adler. Then, responding to the growth of interpersonal approaches in psycho analytic and psychodynamic psychotherapy, the authors present vignettes of Adlerian psychotherapy to demonstrate its historical and companionable approach to intersubjectivity and relational elements in the larger world of psychotherapy. Publishing in an Adlerian journal rather than one of psychodynamic psychotherapy offers members of the North American Society of Adlerian Psychology a taste of Adler's expanded potential in the therapeutic setting.
