Abstract
A THOUGH we can generalize on the adjustments of retailing to 194I conditions, it must be recognized that the problems confronting the various fields of retailing are by no means quite identical. Some problems may be unique to a particular retailing field, while other problems may affect several fields, yet each in a different degree. This paper will attempt to consider several likely developments or adjustments in the chaingrocery industry, arising at least in part from the present national defense program. It is hoped that we will have discussions from the floor, touching on the adjustments in other retailing fields.
