Abstract
Background and Aims: Earlier we have shown that adipose tissue hormone adiponectin is accumulated in stable and unstable atherosclerotic plaques of human aorta. The current study is undertaken to find out, first, if adiponectin is also localized in normal aortic intima, and, second, if adiponectin is synthesized locally in normal aortic intima or plaques, or it goes there from plasma.
