Adipocytic regulation and function of the CORS-26 (collagenous repeat containing sequence of 26 kDa protein) gene product „Cartonectin„

Abstract

Objective and methods: CORS-26 (collagenous repeat containing sequence of 26-kDa protein) was identified as a new gene transcript expressed in cartilage with unknown function. It was the aim to investigate expression, regulation and function of CORS-26 in adipocytes. CORS-26 mRNA and protein expression was investigated by RT-PCR, Western blot analysis and quantitative real-time PCR. Transcriptional regulation was investigated by electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA) and luciferase reporter gene assay (LRA). The adipocytic secretion of adiponectin and resistin was measured by ELISA.
