Abstract

The effectiveness of psychopharmacologic agents is reduced by patients’ nonadherence to therapy. Regimen complexity, form, and route of administration are important factors that contribute to nonadherence in a variety of medical illnesses. Drug delivery systems are thought to be very influential in the adherence rates for psychiatric illnesses.
