Abstract

Adenyl urea derivative 1, which exhibits anion interaction, has been synthesized and characterized. With reference to the earlier reported compounds 2 and 3, compound 1 shows interaction to basic anions F− and pyruvate in CHCl3. The binding interaction has been illustrated by fluorescence, UV–vis, and 1H NMR spectroscopic methods. The conformational behavior and the binding features of 1 with F− and pyruvate in CHCl3 are explained by theoretical study.
