Abstract

Adenosine 3′,5′-cyclic monophosphate does occur in higher plants and is widely distributed both in monocots and dicots. Its level varies in roots, leaves and buds, and changes with age. Wide differences exist between annual plants perennial woody trees. A concentration gradient of cyclic AMP exists from the apex to the roots.
