Abstract

This review of the records of 165 patients evaluates the trends in diagnosis and management of adenocarcinoma of the endometrium in a private practice from 1946 through 1970. The 5 year over-all survival rate was 84 per cent for the 104 patients treated from 1946 through 1965, while the 10 year over-all survival rate was 61 per cent for the 56 patients treated from 1946 through 1960, The survival rates and recurrences are correlated with the stage of the disease and type of therapy. An evaluation of the 61 patients treated during the past 5 years reveals a larger number of early lesions and indicates that recent systems of clinical staging make possible more rational individualization of treatment.
