Abstract
1. The authors have synthesized an adduct of quinoline with copper monochloroacetate, with the composition (CH2ClCOO)2Cu·0.75chin·H20. 2. Using ESR, IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetry, and x-ray phase analysis, the authors have investigated three adducts of quinoline with copper monochloroacetate, (CH2ClCOO)2Cu· chin, (CH2ClCOO)2Cu·2chin, and (CH2ClCOO)2Cu·0.75chin-H20. 3. By the ESR method it is shown that the compound (CH2ClCOO)2Cu·0.75chin·H20 contains four types of magnetic centers —one with spin 1/2 containing a single copper ion, and three with spin 1 due to exchange-linked pairs of copper ions.
