Abstract
The growth in international student numbers in New Zealand in the last decade has brought to the forefront the topic of plagiarism. Attitudes to plagiarism may differ in the students’ home country from New Zealand, for traditional, cultural reasons. As a result, some students have problems adapting to western viewpoints on plagiarism. This paper describes the measures taken at one tertiary institution, in particular compulsory workshops and a test, which have virtually eliminated the problem.
