DALLAS — Research shows a link between educational attainment and recidivism for previously incarcerated individuals. We know that education works and is cost‐effective, said Joni Schwartz, Ed.D., a professor at LaGuardia Community College of the City University of New York. “It costs much less to put someone through college than to keep him in prison,” she added.
