Abstract

We have examined the spectrum of singly ionized beryllium, Be II, in the wavelength region at 2000–8000 Å by means of plasma spectroscopy at the pumped divertor of the Joint European Torus, JET. Fifteen new multiplets were observed and classified as transitions from high-lying terms with n = 7, 8, 9 and 10. Some of these transitions also appear in unpublished beam-foil spectra. The results are compared with theoretical ab initio calculations.
