Abstract

Surnia ulula is a summer resident in Shajitsu Mountain, Hangyong Nando so not only a straggler; Nucifraga c. macrorhynchos is a resident in Kongo Mts., Kangwon-Do; Dryocopus m. martius breeds Eiro Mts. and Hakuba Mts., in Kangwon-Do and the young was caught; Dryocopus richardsi were observed at many occasions from Yuten Temple to Shorin Temple in the Kongo Mts.; more than ten individuals of Lyrurus t. ussuriensis were observed at Maka Temple; several of, Grus virgo were observed at Koka I., Kyonggi-Do; at the sea-bird colony of Ran I. in Kangwon-Do Uria aalege inornata, Uria carbo, Cerorhinca monocerata, Synthliboramphus antiquus, Phalacrocorax p. pelagicus, Chaetura c. caudacuta were breeding, two speceis of Uria and Cerorhinca being their southernmost range in Korea; Lyrurus breeds commonly at Nojido, east side of the Taekto Mt.; a specimen of Columba j. janthina from Dagelet Is. constitutes the first record from Korea; the route from Wonsan to Seoul is a winter quarters for swans and cranes; southernmost records in Korea are Cuculus micropterus from Kyongi-Do, Tetrastes from Chunchong Pokdo, Athene noctua from Hwanghae-Do, Nyctea from Chungchong Nando and Platalea from Kyongsang Nando.
