Abstract
1. (1) The one-day-old pre-erythrocytic trophozoite of P. cynomolgi is described as a small round body 1.5 – 2.5 μ in diameter, containing a small vacuole and located in a parenchyma cell of the liver. 2. (2) Retarded, dying or dead pre-erythrocytic trophozoites of P. cynomolgi seen on the third day after infection are described and discussed. The three-day-old pre-erythrocytic schizonts of P. cynomolgi are defined further. 3. (3) A pattern of exo-erythrocytic development of P. cynomolgi is postulated. This assumes a sharp drop in numbers from the first generation to very low numbers by the third generation. Only on and around the 100th day after infection do the exo-erythrocytic schizonts become sufficiently numerous again to be demonstrated.
