Abstract

The aldol reaction with aldehyde-derived enecarbamates is a useful way to avoid self-condensation or unwanted side-products, which is often observed with simple aldehydes. These substrates are also more stable to air and water than are aldehydes. The intermediate polymer products proposed were transformed to monomeric products in the presence of scandium catalyst.
