Abstract

In a patient with Schmidt's syndrome, the diagnosis of Addison's disease was clinically obvious, but the presence of hypothyroidism was not. The patient did not look myxedematous, but myxedema was suspected because the thyroid was slightly enlarged and the deep tendon reflexes were slowed. Despite multiple theories, the cause of Schmidt's syndrome is not known.
