Abstract

In a recent paper, we proposed some problems in the argument of the generalized second law and then pointed out the possibility that the differential form of the generalized second law could be violated for some class of states in a systematic manner, not a fluctuating one. In this Brief Report, we show that the integrated form of the generalized second law comparing the total entropy of black holes and surrounding matter between a past asymptotic equilibrium state and future one, holds quite generally, even if the differential form of the generalized second law does not hold.
