Abstract
The adaptive varied weight immunologic particle swarm optimization algorithm (AWIPSO) is proposed for power system economic dispatch problem. In order to avoid the identity of all particles due to the same weight that the conventional PSO has used, the adaptive dynamic varied weighs which are controlled by the fitness of particles are designed. By introducing three kinds of immune mechanism in artificial immune algorithm, the conventional PSO was improved through adding particle concentration cognition item. The improvements can help maintain the diversity of particles and avoid trapping into the local minimum. Simulation results of 10-unit test system both for static and dynamic dispatch indicate that the proposed AWIPSO performs better than the conventional PSO in terms of solution quality and stability.
