Abstract

Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) systems work in complex and time-variant wireless environment. Fixed load threshold of uplink resource allocation algorithm in CDMA systems cannot well meet system performance requirement in wireless environment. This paper proposes an adaptive uplink load control algorithm to solve the problem. The adaptive algorithm controls uplink load by dynamically updating uplink load threshold according to outage events. Uplink load outage percentage is an important index to show the uplink stability in CDMA communication systems. The proposed method can keep the system stable by guaranteeing uplink load outage percentage in different situations. Furthermore, it brings higher throughput when the system is stable. 1
