Abstract

Paper deals with the problem of power system control during emergency situation, caused by generating power deficiency. Deep frequency decline usually is prevented with the help of frequency-actuated load shedding automation. Analysis of existing load shedding system showed possibility of power system blackout due to improper parameters of emergency control system. New load shedding system, adaptive to the variation of power system operational conditions is suggested. The paper illustrates results of mathematical simulation of load shedding operation during the emergency situation in the power system. Comparison of operation for existing and new load shedding system is presented in paper.
