Abstract

A new adaptive time delay estimation method is proposed for highly corruptive environments based on the cyclostationary property of the source signal. The time delay operator is modeled as a finite impulse response filter. The new adaptive scheme is based on parametric modeling between two sensor measurements and employs cyclic statistics of the data. Simulation examples are presented to demonstrate the signal selectivity of the new adaptive method in the presence of noises and interference. The only requirement is that the source signal has a known (or measurable) carrier frequency or keying rate that is distinct from those of interfering signals.
