Abstract
Abstract Adaptive sampling refers to a sampling technique in which the procedure for selecting units depends on the previous observations made during the study. Compared to the traditional fixed sampling procedure, adaptive sampling techniques often lead to more effective results. Some practical methods have been developed, such as adaptive cluster sampling, stratified adaptive cluster sampling, systematic and strip adaptive cluster sampling, and adaptive cluster sampling based on order statistics.
