Abstract
Polarization Mode Dispersion (PMD) causes time dependent pulse distortions in high speed and long haul optical fiber communication systems. Several methods for compensating the effect of PMD are available. This paper focuses on optical PMD compensation by using an optical filter. By analyzing the variation of Differential Group Delay (DGD) with respect to duration for different compensated signals, adaptively compensated signals always provides better results.
